BURNEY OPENS SEASON AT HAMILTON
(DECEMBER 2, 2008) 6:18 | The Burney Raiders opened the hardwood season with a 42-41 victory against the host Hamilton Braves on Dec. 2. Bobby Linquest only scored two buckets, but he had the one that counted most after Dylan Harrington’s shot came up short. Linquest made the catch and reverse lay-in to give the Raiders the lead with just 2 seconds remaining. Ryan Phipps put the Raiders within a deuce after sinking two free throws with 19.8-seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Harrington nabbed the ensuing inbound pass for a quick score to knot things up at 40 all. Phipps led all scorers with 16 points followed by Harrington with 15.
